completed its research and development phase early in 2007, and entered the
first phase of production on 8 March of the same year. Full-scale production
began in January 2009. SIAMCO’s plant, where the cars are manufactured, is
situated in the industrial city of Adra, about

Damascus. This
cutting-edge facility provides employment for 450 fully-trained staff and has a
production capacity of 10,000 per shift per year. With its robust body and
advanced chassis, Sham is among the safest saloon cars ever built.
The bold body style and affirmative outline
represent the car’s power and resilience.
The spacious and luxurious interior easily accommodates five adults, while its
state-of-the-art equipment, including air-conditioning, power steering, electric window, power
antenna, intelligent voice alarm and notification system, keyless entry and
map- reading light, ensures safety, ease and comfort throughout the journey for
driver and passengers alike ham is fitted with a huge boot that has a capacity
of
500 liters,
providing sufficient storage space for the whole family’s luggage. One
innovative feature is that it is possible to access part of the boot from the
interior of the car, so that small items can be retrieved or safely stowed.
Sham has a powerful, fuel-efficient engine that delivers 100 horsepower, while
meeting Euro-II emission regulations. It consumes

There is a growing risk of a large
volcanic explosion on the Caribbean island
of Montserrat. Salem,
the largest town, is going to be evacuated. The decision was made by Bertrand
Osborn, the Chief Minister of the island. It came after a new warning had been
given by scientists at the Montserrat Volcano Observatory. They believe there
will soon be a large explosion and the safety of the local people cannot be
guaranteed. Yesterday, people were being moved to a safe zone in the north of
the island. ’Financial help for the islanders will be announced later this
week’ Mr. Osborne said. However, local residents have criticized the
government. They say that the government knew about the danger over a week ago
but no action was taken. They also claim that people are being evacuated to
areas that are still dangerous.’ The situation has not been improved. It’s
total chaos.’ said a local activist.
